Wear the right colours to match your skin tone

Brief recap
You can have the same skin colour as another person but have a different undertones. If you’ve read my previous blog post, you’ll have an idea of what your skin undertone is, if you haven’t, Find our your skin undertone here.

Once you know your skin undertone, read on to find the colours that best suit you.

Warm Skin Undertones

On the warm side of the colour chart, you should wear:

  • Red
  • Peach
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Gold

Neutral colours that will suit your skin tones are:

  • Taupe
  • Cappuccino
  • Cream

Cooler colours that will suit you are:

  • Khaki
  • Violet red

AVOID
Icy blue tones, these will make your skin look grey and washed out.

Cool Skin Undertones

Your best colours are on the cooler side of the chat meaning that the best colours for you are:

  • Bright blue
  • Purple
  • Emerald
  • Lavendar

Neutral colours that you should wear:

  • Light grey
  • White

Warmer tones that will suit your skin tone are:

  • Bright red
  • Pale yellow

AVOID

  • Orange
  • Dark Red
  • Dark brown

Neutral Skin Undertones

As a neutral, you can wear anything on the colour chart (lucky thing) but rather than wearing bright and bold colours, it is recommended to use softened versions of the colour such as dusky pink
